stay tuned . . .
Like most of you, I'm always busy, working on new materials to teach and to submit or publish.
BELOW is a preview of what I'll soon be adding to this page.
literature of the DCR & Nigeria through three lenses: postcolonial, feminist, and critical race theory
"Literature of the DRC and Nigeria through Three Lenses" is a high school English unit, approximately eight weeks long, covering various genres of literature about and from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Nigeria, including authors Adam Hochschild, Joseph Conrad, Chinua Achebe, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Ben Okri, and Wole Soyinka. Through readings and activities in the textbook Critical Encounters in Secondary English, students will first learn important components of each lens, and then read the literature in such a way that specific theoretical lenses are explored, highlighted, and reinforced.
